In 1908, when there was no church building in the township of McAllen, a faithful group gathered in an open
lumber yard with others of like faith to worship. Their desire to meet in a building of their own led them
to a shared location with the Presbyterians, a school building, and even a theater.
The Rio Grande Valley was a sparse and turbulent place. Yet neither hurricanes nor fires deterred our
predecessors from their mission to worship together and to provide a lighthouse for the lost.
Today, we remain a Christ-centered church focusing on the essentials of Evangelism, Discipleship and Ministry.
In these hundered years, God has provided a house where we have dedicated our children, baptized new believers,
joined in marriage, remembered the deceased, knelt in supplication, cried in repentance and rejoiced in healing.
The Lord has truly blessed our church because it is a place where the Word has been faithfully preached,
love for our Lord is kept in our hearts and lives have been changed. Come join us, and be a part of our church family.

how to become a member
By Profession of Faith and Baptism:
After receiving Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord, you then follow Him in baptism by immersion.
By Letter:
If you are a member of another Baptist congregation, we will be happy to take care of the details for transferring your membership.
By Statement:
If your Baptist church membership records are not available for transfer of membership, or if you were once a Baptist but are presently a member of another denomination, we welcome you upon your statement of these conditions.
